TENANT: After working in the HR industry for over a decade, Patsy Barron founded Career Smart in 2005 with the goal of providing personal and professional executive recruiting services for Middle Georgia manufacturers and businesses. She was co-leasing a space with 6 attorneys and needed more space. Since she specializes in recruiting high-level executive and managerial positions, confidentiality was important and she started considering options. She wanted a unique office space in downtown Macon in a safe environment.
SPP SOLUTION: Patsy knew that SPP Commercial Group had prestigious locations in the Macon area and called Susan Bloodworth to begin the search. They were not just looking for office space, but a private place that felt like home and would also make a great first impression on their clients. In 2016, CareerSmart relocated to new offices in a beautifully restored landmark known as The Armory Building. Built in 1885, the building has 12-foot ceilings, original fireplaces, heart pine floors and expansive windows that overlook beautiful downtown Macon. The new space gave Patsy the unique office setting she desired and provided CareerSmart a central location that’s convenient for their Middle Georgia clients. SPP connected Patsy with quality contractors to complete her space and six weeks after signing the contract she moved in.
PLAN FOR SUCCESS: CareerSmart remains active and engaged in the local community and has expanded their business to add new clients from all over the United States. In their 2nd floor location, they can provide a personalized and precise approach to management and executive recruiting in a safe environment in the heart of the city. SPP helped Patsy create a space she loves and she enjoys entertaining clients at trendy, downtown restaurants while sharing the rich heritage of the Macon area. Patsy has referred many clients to SPP Commercial. They listened to her needs and found the perfect place that merged her personal office desires with CareerSmart’s business culture.
