TENANT: While serving in the Marine Corp for 13 years, Mandy Robbins had picked up smoking cigarettes and was up to 2 packs a day in 2013. She stopped smoking in August of that year by vaping and knew she wanted to help others kick the habit. She asked her husband what he thought of her opening a vape shop in Warner Robins and he was very supportive. She opened her store in 2014, but her landlord gave her a makeshift lease and bumped up her rent without notice. The shopping center had very little parking for her customers and was surrounded by construction projects so it was hard to access the area. She was determined to find a better location for her business.
SPP SOLUTION: Mandy had built a nice clientele in Warner Robins and wanted to stay in that area. When she saw a space open at Lake Joy Pavilion, she made an appointment to see the space. Located next to Houston Lake Cinemas and across from Rigby’s Water Park, she knew this would be a good location for her. There were well known restaurants like Mellow Mushroom and Wild Wing Café in the area and Growler USA, which had been voted Best Pub by the Macon Telegraph, was in the same complex. She signed a lease with SPP Commercial that day, gave her old landlord a 30-day notice, and opened for business at Lake Joy Pavilion on Memorial Day 2016.
PLAN FOR SUCCESS: The Vapor Shoppe is one of the first stores in Middle Georgia to sell electronic cigarettes and accessories. Mandy enjoys helping her customers find healthier alternatives to smoking and her referral business is strong. She wants to provide the best customer experience possible and her new location provides plenty of parking and a safe environment in the heart of Warner Robins entertainment district. She is thankful to Susan and the SPP team that helped make her transition from Marine Corp to civilian business life smooth and easy.
